Carly and I met while collaborating on a summer wedding in Estes Park Colorado. She brought her talents as an amazing florist all the way from Texas to help decorate a wedding at the Taharaa Lodge, and it was so fun to collaborate with her.
During her stay, we planned a maternity photo session in Rocky Mountain National Park. Carly wanted her photos to be reflective of her time here in Colorado and the great changes on the way, as she prepares to welcome her new baby.
We balanced the soft summer light with the grand peaks of the mountains, picking up nature’s amazing hues and tones as a radiant backdrop. The soft, grayish blue of her dress was a perfect late summer color against nature’s yellows and greens, and the afternoon shadows fell in all the right places to give the images a soft, glowing polish.
While shooting shooting around Sprague Lake in the park, Carly told me her favorite mountain photo growing up was the very same view we used that evening. Talk about coming full circle!
In life, personal roads merge from time to time, paths cross, and past can become present. I couldn’t help but feel that we were exactly where we were suppose to be in this moment. Working together as business minded creatives, I feel like we are both visionaries deeply dedicated to creating something beautiful, whether it’s a soft and delicate bouquet, a timeless photo, or a beautiful reflective moment in our personal journey’s as mothers.
Carly, I can’t tell you how excited I am for you and Jason! What a treat document this one-of-a-kind time before you welcome your new child. See the session featured on The Font Collective HERE!
