Destination weddings are an exciting adventure for an engaged couple. In essence, a destination wedding plays two roles – part honeymoon and part wedding. When you add in family and friends, it’s like a big vacation where everyone gets to be part of the wedding story!
Marley and Beau’s story unfolds in the heart of the Colorado Rockies at a beautiful wedding venue in Estes Park. Marley knew when she first got engaged to Beau that the mountains were calling their hearts and sense of adventure – so they answered the call.
Located in Texas, the couple planned everything from afar with a little help from friends and family. Their venue for their special day took place at the was the stunning Taharaa Mountain Lodge, on the edge of Rocky Mountain National Park. The natural beauty of the mountains combined with the fresh, cool mountain air made it a great extended get-away for the whole wedding party and perfect for an outdoor wedding.
Marley’s beautiful, lace-top wedding dress actually had the same name as her betrothed, Beau. When she saw it, Marley knew that it would be a perfect match! The bridesmaids each wore a unique dress ranging from pale pink, champagne and light gold, bringing a lot of dynamic color and personality to the wedding photos.
All of the wedding details were simple, but elegant. Gold engraved wedding invitations with a calligraphy font, light accents of pale pink and purple flowers, coupled and with leather and wood accents and lots of white candles and lights, gave the wedding and reception a nature-inspired feel. Bright sparklers were a big highlight as the bride and groom made their entrance into the wedding reception and a new life together.
I first met Marley earlier this summer for her bridal session hosted at the Denver Botanical Gardens in downtown Denver Colorado. It was such a beautiful and unique place to photograph the bride to be in such a colorful, dynamic space, and an even bigger treat to be her photographer her on the official wedding day in Estes Park.
Marley & Beau, congratulations to you both! Hope you loved your destination wedding in Colorado, and happy to hear know you are taking a little piece of the Rocky Mountains home with you in your hearts.
