Though I enjoy all the seasons here in Colorado for family portraits and weddings, fall is my most favorite time of all.
Each year when autumn rounds around, I feel invigorated by the gorgeous colors and scents. Although the foliage is quietly preparing for winter, the leaves go out with a blaze of glory, and that last burst of color leaves me with a feeling of creative inspiration and back to school vibes. I guess it’s the former teacher in me, getting excited about what the next school year will bring and reconnecting with kids and their parents.
I’ve watched these kiddos grow over the past seven years, and each year I looking forward to catching up with them and their loving families. We’ve shared so many stories, and I like to think the images we take together become stories they share with others, too.
Taking family portraits is about more than something cute to put on an annual Christmas card in a pinch. It’s about the process of reconnecting as a family, with friends and having fun, all while capturing the beauty of the fall season at the same time.
